Garlic Cheesy Biscuits

A biscuit is a baked, edible, and commonly flour-based food-product....In the United States and Canada, it is a small, soft, leavened bread, somewhat similar to a scone... though generally softer and fluffier.... Today i add some cheese and touch of garlic makes it more yum... it could be served with lasagna, pasta and pizza

self-rising flour 2 cups
baking powder 1 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
shortening 1/3 cup
cheddar cheese grated 3/4 cup
buttermilk 1 cup
salt
butter melted 2 tbsp
garlic powder 1/2 - 1 tsp

Preheat oven to 350 F/180 C

In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, to taste, and sugar together using a fork.... cut in shortening until it resembles crumbs

add cheese.... sir in buttermilk all at one time just until blended.... do not over stir

drop by tablespoonfuls, onto a well-greased baking sheet.....

in small bowl mix melted butter with garlic powder....

and then brush dough with butter mixture....

bake for 12 to 15 minutes... and enjoy :)
