Garlic Rolls

These kinds of Garlic rolls are the best thing to have it with any meal... These are rich buttery taste combined with garlic flavor and aroma of herbs make them melt in mouth yummy treat... and i got the recipe from http://www.facebook.com/Fauzias.Kitchen.Fun so all just we need is:

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk
2 tsp instant yeast
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp melted butter
4 tbsp oil
2 tbsp milk powder
1/4 cup warm water (you may required may be less)

Garlic filling:

2 tbsp room temperature butter
2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander/parsley
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp garlic paste or chopped garlic
egg for brushing (optional)
Sesame seeds for garnishing (optional)
Cheese for garnishing (optional)

First mix the yeast with warm water, sprinkle some sugar from that 1 tsp in it... and let it stand for 3-5 minutes

After few minutes you can see the frothy yeast which means your yeast is perfect for usage... if unfortunately it doesn't ... don't use it... discard it...  If you are using instant yeast you can use directly into the dough... and skip this step... but on a safe side checking it ahead would work well

Take salt, sugar, baking powder egg and powder milk

Melt butter... don't let it cook

Sieve the flour, make a well in between add melted butter, and oil

 And all other ingredients

Start kneading together and gradually add the water a little at a time....you might not need it all...knead until every thing comes in a ball form...

Now, put the dough on any flat surface and knead until your dough is nice and soft...Knead for a good 8-10 minutes. The more you knead it the softer the rolls will be.

Put the dough in a bowl, cover it and leave it to rise for upto 40 minutes to an hour.... best place would be microwave or oven (switched off)

It will be double in size

On the other hand make a garlic mixture

Mix softened butter with garlic paste and salt and chopped cilantro/parsley

Make a smooth paste and keep it aside

Now, puncture the doubled dough.. knead it again... Divide the dough into two balls... Keep one ball covered whilst you are working on the other one...

Dust some flour on your working surface and roll it out into a rectangular shape, about quarter inch thickness....Using the back of a spoon, apply your garlic filling all over the surface.

Then roll up the dough from the longer side, like a swiss roll.

Cut the pieces...place them close to each other on a greased baking dish. Repeat with the other ball of dough.

Once all the rolls are done, brush the remaining garlic butter on the tops and cover loosely, let the rolls double in size again...

brush them with egg, sprinkle some sesame seeds or maybe cheese or anything you would like ... i did half n half

Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden on top on 180 C/ 400 F degree

When you remove the rolls, keep them covered under a kitchen towel for about 10 minutes to further soften them.

Today i served them with chicken spicy roast http://morewish.blogspot.com/2012/04/chicken-spicy-roast.html... try them and enjoy!
