Ingredients

🥩 Meat Filling:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup chopped yellow onion
1 lb ground beef (I used ground chicken)
2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup beef broth or water
1½ cups frozen mixed peas, carrots, and corn

🍝 Creamy Pasta Layer

8 oz macaroni noodles (½ box)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups half and half or whipping cream (I used a mix of both)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
¾ teaspoon mustard powder

🥔 Mashed Potato Topping

1½–2 lb potatoes (about 2 large), peeled and cubed
8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick)
⅓ cup half and half
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Meat Filling

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat for 2 minutes. Add chopped onions and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
Add ground meat and break it apart with a wooden spoon. Stir in Italian herbs, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 6 - 8 minutes until fully browned.
Add Worcestershire sauce and minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Sprinkle flour and add tomato paste, stirring well until fully incorporated with no lumps.
Pour in broth (or water) and add frozen vegetables. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)

2️⃣ Prepare the Creamy Pasta Layer

Boil macaroni noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute). Slowly whisk in half and half, followed by whipping cream, ensuring no lumps form.
Season with salt, black pepper, mustard powder, and crushed red pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens.
Fold in the cooked macaroni and mix well. Set aside.

3️⃣ Make the Mashed Potato Topping

Place cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10–15 minutes until fork tender.
Drain and return potatoes to the pot. Add butter, half and half, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Stir in Parmesan cheese until fully combined.

4️⃣ Assemble the Shepherd’s Pie

Spread the meat filling evenly in a 9×13 baking dish
Add the creamy pasta layer and smooth the top
Spoon mashed potatoes over the pasta and gently spread evenly

👉 Tip: If the dish looks very full, place it on a rimmed baking sheet to prevent bubbling over.

5️⃣ Bake

Bake uncovered at 400°F for 25–30 minutes until bubbling and lightly golden on top.
Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Final Thoughts

This Creamy Pasta Shepherd’s Pie is comfort food at its finest, hearty, creamy, and deeply satisfying. The extra pasta layer adds a delightful surprise that makes this dish stand out from traditional Shepherd’s Pie recipes.
If you try this recipe, I’d love to hear how it turned out for you!

Quick & Easy Alfredo Bake – A Perfect Weeknight Meal by morEwish

There are days when you just want dinner to be simple, comforting, and still a little wholesome. That’s when my Alfredo Bake comes to the rescue! It’s creamy, cheesy, packed with flavor, and comes together with just a few pantry staples. Best part? It’s a hit with the whole family, especially when I use egg noodles instead of regular pasta.

Why I Love This Recipe

This Alfredo Bake checks all the boxes:

✅ Quick and easy for weeknights

✅ Family-friendly comfort food

✅ Balanced with protein, veggies, and carbs

✅ Cozy and satisfying without hours in the kitchen

It’s definitely become one of those “save this for busy nights” kind of meals in our home. 💛

Notes & Tips

I use Ragu Alfredo Sauce because according to my research it’s vegetarian friendly, and generally considered fine for a halal diet, but please do your own research and use what you feel comfortable with.

This recipe is super adaptable! Add mushrooms, spinach, or even sun-dried tomatoes for variety.

Perfect for meal prep, leftovers heat up beautifully.

Blanch the broccoli

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

Add broccoli florets and cook for 1–2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.

Immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain well.

Instagram Reel:

Ingredients You’ll Need

Chicken – 1 lb, cooked with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. (Shortcut: rotisserie chicken or leftovers work beautifully!)

Broccoli florets – about 1 cup, blanched

Egg noodles or pasta – 1 lb (16 oz), boiled (my family swears by egg noodles in this recipe!)

Ragu Alfredo Sauce – 2 jars (not sponsored, but I’d love to be! 🤍)

Chicken stock – 1 cup

Seasonings –

  • ½ tsp black pepper,
  • 1 tsp garlic powder,
  • 1 tsp onion powder,
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

Parmesan cheese – 1 cup (1/2 cup for mixing and 1/2 cup for topping)

Parsley – fresh or dried, for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Cook the chicken – Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dice or shred it once cooked.

2. Blanch the broccoli – Just a quick dip in boiling water to keep it crisp and green.

3. Boil your noodles – Egg noodles are my personal favorite, but pasta works just fine.

4. Mix the sauce – In a large mixing bowl, whisk together Alfredo sauce, chicken stock, and seasonings until smooth.

5. Combine everything – Add cooked chicken, broccoli, noodles, and ½ cup Parmesan into the sauce mixture. Stir until everything is coated.

6. Bake it – Transfer into a 9×13 inch casserole dish. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup Parmesan over the top and bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.

7. Finish & enjoy – Garnish with parsley, serve warm, and watch it disappear!

Freezing & Make-Ahead Option

One of the best things about this Alfredo Bake is how well it holds up for meal prep:

To freeze before baking: Assemble everything in the casserole dish (including the sauce, chicken, broccoli, noodles, and Parmesan mixed in). Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top, then cover tightly with foil and plastic wrap. Freeze for up to 2 months. When ready to cook, thaw overnight in the fridge and bake as directed.

To freeze after baking: Let the casserole cool completely. Portion into airtight containers or wrap the whole dish tightly. Reheat covered in the oven at 350°F until warmed through, or microwave individual portions.

Fridge option: If you just want to make it ahead, the unbaked casserole can sit in the fridge (covered) for up to 24 hours before baking.

✨ So next time you’re short on time but still want a dinner that feels like a warm hug, give this Alfredo Bake a try. I’d love to know how you and your family like it tag me on Instagram at morEwish Cuisine if you make it!

Mac 'n Cheese with Chicken Cutlets recipe by morEwish

The BEST Homemade Mac and Cheese! Outrageously cheesy, ultra creamy, and topped with crispy cheese layer! This mac and cheese recipe is most definitely a keeper. Homemade cheese sauce take this macaroni and cheese recipe over the top!

Repeat after me - FRESH GRATED CHEESE ONLY! I know it’s a pain, and it’s SO tempting to use the pre-shredded cheese in the bags. But those bags of cheese contain a starchy substance that keeps the cheese from clumping… which also prohibits it from melting as well as it should.

While you can use your favorite cheeses. I personally prefer to add cheddar, colby jack, cream cheese  and Mozzarella and if I get my hands on white cheddar, but you can be very creative with the cheese selection here. Gouda, smoked gouda, swiss, monterey jack...

Today I served Chicken cutelts to go with Mac 'n Cheese. These are simple thin slices of chicken fillets seasoned well and are breaded with breadcrumb mixture then air fried to get super crispy and flavorful.
Used very few ingredients, quite inexpensive, this chicken cutlet recipe is so versatile you'll want to be making them all the time. You can thinly slice and top a salad for a quick lunch. Or pop into a sandwich or serve with pasta.

Cheesy Chicken Casserole with Ritz crackers چکن کسیرول recipe by morEwish

If you are craving something cheesy and satisfying, this Cheesy Chicken Casserole is what you need! Creamy and cheesy with a buttery crunch, it doesn’t get more comfort food delicious than this recipe.

This dish is all about comfort. It is taking simple shortcut ingredients and creating something warming that the whole family will love. This quick and easy make ahead dish is sure to make any weeknight or holiday gathering easier. For even more variations, experiment with adding your favorite veggies, substituting different cheeses, or swapping in low-fat sour cream to reduce the calorie load, this casserole is that forgiving!

This easy chicken casserole can be adapted to use whatever you might have in your fridge:

Vegetables: Cook and/or drain your veggies before adding to this casserole. Leftover grilled or roasted veggies, all work well.

Pasta: Any medium pasta will work in this recipe. Be sure to cook it al dente (so it’s still a bit firm), it’ll cook more in the oven.

Chicken: Swap it for grounded beef or any meat you have on hand.

Sauce: Use cream of whatever-you-have-in-your-pantry or make a homemade white sauce or condensed mushroom soup.

Cheese: Any kind of cheese goes here!

Topping: Casseroles are usually topped with cheese. It’s also great with a bread crumb topping. Combine 1 cup bread crumbs with 1/4 - 1/2 cup melted butter (add a bit of garlic powder, salt & pepper too). Sprinkle overtop and bake as directed.

You can make this ahead, just assemble the ingredients to the point just before you would put it in the oven. Do not put the cracker crust on top. Cover it and it should be fine in the refrigerator overnight. And like most casserole recipes, you can freeze this as well. Simply allow it to cool down fully. Wrap it tightly with aluminum foil. It should be good in your freezer for about 3 months. Just take it out the night before to thaw in your fridge before you bake it!

Cheesy Spaghetti Casserole چیزی اسپیگٹی کیسیرول recipe by morEwish

This Baked Spaghetti is a favorite casserole around here! A quick zesty meat sauce is combined with spaghetti and cream cheese, layered it with mozzarella cheese sauce and topped with more parmesan cheese. This spaghetti casserole is baked in the oven until hot and bubbly.

So this meal is crazy simple to make. I used a jarred sauce in this recipe. There are quite a few good ones out there these days. I jazzed the sauce up by adding some ground beef, onions, garlic and Italian herbs. It tastes very homemade and it’s a bit more convenient than making sauce some scratch.
Cream Cheese is what hold this casserole together. I could eat this casserole every.single.day!

You have never had a spaghetti casserole better this this one! It’s layered with an easy mozzarella cheese sauce that takes it over the top. DELICIOUS!
