Now comes the fun, creamy part!

You’ll need:

1 cup milk (dairy or non dairy)

Frozen coffee cubes

2 tablespoons hazelnut coffee mix (for extra bold flavor)

Coffee Hot Cocoa: The Ultimate Cozy Drink recipe by morEwish

There’s something magical about a warm drink on a cold day. Whether you're snuggled up with a good book or watching the first snowfall of the season, a cup of Coffee Hot Cocoa is the perfect companion. This decadent blend of creamy cocoa and bold coffee is pure comfort in a mug, giving you the best of both worlds.

Today, I’m sharing my recipe for this heavenly drink that’s sure to become your new favorite. Let’s dive in!

Why Coffee Hot Cocoa?

Hot cocoa is nostalgic, while coffee brings that energizing kick we all need. When combined, they create a beautifully balanced drink that’s both indulgent and uplifting. This recipe is perfect for chilly mornings, cozy evenings, or even as a holiday treat to share with loved ones.

Tips for the Best Coffee Hot Cocoa

Milk Matters: Whole milk or 2% milk gives the creamiest texture. Non-dairy alternatives like almond or oat milk work well, too!

Sweetness Level: Adjust the sugar to your taste. If you like it less sweet, cut back slightly, as the chocolate chips also add sweetness.

Coffee Strength: Use your favorite instant coffee or espresso powder for a more robust flavor.

Why You’ll Love It

This Coffee Hot Cocoa recipe is a game-changer:

Comforting and Energizing: It’s cozy enough for bedtime but has just enough caffeine for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Customizable: Make it as rich or as light as you like with different milk and chocolate options.

Perfect for Sharing: It’s easy to scale up or down, making it ideal for serving a crowd or just treating yourself.

Instagram Reel:

Ingredients

For 4 Servings:

4 cups milk (preferably whole or 2%)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup instant coffee

For 2 Servings:

2 cups milk
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup instant coffee

For a Single Serving:

1 cup milk
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon chocolate chips
1 tablespoon instant coffee

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and instant coffee. This step ensures everything blends evenly for a smooth drink.

2. Froth the Base
Add a splash of milk to the dry mixture and whisk until it forms a thick, smooth paste. Froth it lightly to create a fluffy base – this is where the magic begins!

3. Heat the Milk
Warm the rest of the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Don’t let it boil; you want it hot but still creamy.

4. Combine
Slowly pour the hot milk into your cocoa-coffee base, stirring continuously. Toss in the chocolate chips and stir until fully melted and smooth.

5. Top It Off
Pour your Coffee Hot Cocoa into a favorite mug. Top with whipped cream, grated chocolate, marshmallows, or even a sprig of mint for an extra touch of luxury.

So, what’s your go-to cozy drink for winter?

Try this recipe and let me know how you like it! Don’t forget to share your favorite tweaks and toppings in the comments.

Cold Coffee کلڈ کافی Pakistani Style aka Coffee Milk shake recipe by morEwish

Coffee mixed with cold milk and icecream makes an amazing concoction and makes me nostalgic all the time! Bring back so many memories when hanging out with friends and coming back home on time was only thing to worry and which song to play or which place to hang out was only disagreements we had. Ah! what beautiful days!

I made swirl chocolate syrup around the glass and to decorate, which adds even more coffee intensity. It's just looks prettier with a swirl on the inside of the glass, right? You can top it with whipped cream as well and more syrup. With the amount of milk it in, it’s definitely a filling drink. If you’re going to have a full glass, be prepared to be a little full.

Today I used vanilla Icecream, if you can find Coffee flavoured ice cream, go ahead use that. It would definately add more intensity and coffee flavour. I love having this drink on a hot day after a long day out or you can enjoy at iftar to satisfy caffine cravings.

Kashmiri Chai کشمیری چاءے recipe by morEwish

Kashmiri Chai, noon chai or pink tea is milk tea with dusty pink hues and garnishes of crushed nuts. This rosy-hued variety is the luxurious, special-occasion drink of choice especially in winters for us Pakistanis.

Authentic noon (literally translated salt) chai is a salty tea as name suggests, but as it traveled to different regions, Karachi version is sweet with a hint of salt, what I grew up drinking. Its a seasonal treat as it often served at winter weddings.

Kashmiri tea leaves are very similar to green tea in that they are minimally oxidized, and I heard many people use regural green tea leaves if they can't find the Kashmiri tea. Because kashmiri tea leaves are hard to find - even for me and I have access to plenty of desi grocery stores.

Making Kashmiri chai requires patience - The key is in the technique. The process starts with heating up water to a simmer, then adding the loose-leaf tea ani star seed, cardamoms and cinnamon with baking soda. Baking soda, neutralizes the acid in the tea leaves and transforms the otherwise pale green tea into a deep burgundy color.

Next take a large ladle and spoon the tea up and down, in and out of the pot, as another way to aerate the tea— keep on doing that in intervals. That addition of air is what gives the tea its pink color. It is always so mesmerizing watching the tea transform before our eyes.

Lastly, adding cold water to hot water shocks the tea leaves and further brings out the color.

This tea concentrate (kehwa) can be kept in refrigerator for upto a week or even frozen for months till you are ready for a cup of pink tea.

Whenever you are ready to serve this, just boil  milk, add kehva (tea concentrate) , leave to steep for 2 -3 minutes, and then finish with some salt, sugar, and crushed pistachios, or just add sugar, omitting the salt entirely.

Why your tea is not pink?

If your tea doesn’t exactly turn out pink, you will still be able to enjoy a delicious flavor. Here are some reasons:
  • Using the wrong type of tea
  • Using old tea leaves
  • The tea leaves are not the correct kind
  • Not boiling long enough
  • Not Aerating enough
  • Forgetting about ice cold water

3 cups of water
3 teaspoon of Kashmiri tea leaves
5-6 cardamoms
A piece of cinamon stick
One star ani seed (badyan phool)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Once 3/4 to 1 cup or kehwa remains add,

3 cups of ice water

Homemade Hot Chocolate ہاٹ چاکلیٹ | Hot Cocoa Holiday Basket idea by morEwish

Perfect way to enjoy winters is having hot cocoa. This creamy, chocolatey and delicious homemade recipe is everything hot cocoa should be!

I used to keep hot cocoa packets on hand for quick use on a cold day, but nothing compares to homemade hot cocoa. Unfortunately, the packets usually contain all kind of preservatives. Thankfully, this homemade hot cocoa is extremely easy to prepare with very few pantry staples.

You can also batch make this recipe into your own Hot Cocoa Mix, that way it’s on hand to stir into hot milk for a quick treat on a cold day. Or make a DIY Holiday hot cocoa basket to share with your loved ones, with stuff like marshmallows, candy canes and some snacks to go along with that!

One of the wonderful things about making hot chocolate from scratch is that you can make it exactly the way you want it! Add some half and half for extra richness or use bittersweet/dark chocolate chips if you like less sweet. You can try a healthier version and use skim milk or almond milk, and reduce the sugar a touch. Or add any other flavouring  like cinnamon, peppermint extract, espresso, or a drizzle of caramel sauce. The options are endless!

Simple, refreshing, healthy and perfect summer time drink made out of fresh chunks of strawberries and homemade strawberry syrup using pureed strawberries - nothing artifical or anything like processed strawberry syrup! This Korean Strawberry milk is a treat to enjoy with your family

I never been to Korea, but saw this trending drink and absolutely loved this drink idea made out of all fresh ingredients. Once I tried it I have been making it almost everyday, more than girls its Ovais's favourite. What I got to know after researching it goes by two different names in Korea, strawberry latte or strawberry milk. Latte is strawberry milk with a bit more froth and whipped cream on top.

You can make this strawberry syrup ahead of time and keep the cooked syrup in the fridge for up to 2 days. Milk mixed in with strawberries should last 3-4 days in the fridge as well. You can froth your milk before adding it or top with some whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
