So, I have been thinking to start my weekend with chinese cuisine, and was thinking to try something new, and came across with this spicy, nutty, sweet and yummy recipe
So yes its upto you, can adjust spices, I would say my recipe is moderate and I served it with my homemade Egg Fried Rice
and as a part of a weekend we ended up with Chocolate Creme Pie, yummy!
for this recipe you need:
Marination:
chicken boneless 1 lb, small cubes
corn flour/starch 1 tsp, heaped
soy sauce 1 tsp
egg 1/2, slightly beaten
Sauce:
chicken stock 1 cup
corn flour 1 tsp
soy sauce 2 tbsp
chili sauce 2 tbsp
oyster sauce 1 tbsp
brown sugar 1 tbsp
white vinegar 2 tbsp
chicken powder/salt 1/2 tsp
white pepper 1/2 tsp
Rest we need:
oil 2 tbsp
ginger 1 tbsp, coarsely chopped
garlic 1 tbsp, coarsely chopped
red button chilies 4 -5, crushed and turned into flakes
onion 1/2 cup, cubed
bell pepper 1/2, cubed
spring onion 1, chopped
peanuts roasted 1/2 cup
sesame oil 1 tsp (optional)
First mix chicken pieces with corn flour, egg and soy sauce, mix, and deep fry till they get golden color
start making sauce, in sauce pan, add chicken stock, soy sauce, chili sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, chicken powder, white pepper and corn flour, mix it with whisk. Now put it over flame and keep on whisking till sauce thickens a bit and you will see turning it glossy - means it done
now, assembling, heat oil add ginger, garlic and fry till you feel aroma
add crushed red chilies (put your whole button chilies in a bowl, with the back of spoon crush them almost 1 tbsp), fry
add onion and capsicum mix and add fried chicken, toss well
add pre cooked sauce and 1/4 cup of peanuts, and spring onion, mix and cook for a minute
dish out and scatter remaining peanuts over it and serve and enjoy!
