Spicy, tasty and full of protein gram lentil with chicken chunks cooked with red chili and yum yum spices... Recipe Courtesy: Shireen Anwer... all you need is:
Boneless chicken 1 lb cubes (2 cups)
Gram lentil (Sabut Chanay ki daal) boiled 1 cupOnion chopped 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
Tomatoes 2 chopped
Red chilies whole 5 -6
Roasted cumin whole 1 tsp
Chili powder 1 ½ tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Khatai powder 1 tsp or tamarind paste (imli) 1/4 tsp
Salt 1 tsp heaped
Oil 1/4 - 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Green chilies 4 slit
Ginger Julian 1 tbsp for garnish
Boil 1 cup gram lentil till half done and keep aside,
take cumin seeds, red chili powder, coriander powder, whole red chilies, and salt out
Heat oil, add chopped onion
fry onion till it starting changing its color, add cumin seeds and whole red chilies, mix and add chopped garlic and fry for 2 minutes
add salt, red chili powder and coriander powder with some water and mix
add chopped tomatoes, and cook covered till they get soft and tender
add chicken and cook for 5 -6 minutes
Dish out and garnish with chopped coriander leaves, green chilies and serve
