Tikka Pulao



To all Pulao lovers... there is new variation I tried and loved it...so I want to share this with you all .... yummy pulao with tikka flavoured chicken... a must try - recipe courtesy Zubaida Tariq

For broth/yakhni:

chicken 2 lbs 
salt 1 tsp
pepper corn (sabut kali mirch) 5/6
garlic 1 tsp
coriander seeds (sabut daniya) 1 tbsp
fennel seeds  (saunf) 1 tsp
cumin seeds (zeera) 1 tsp
onion 1 medium cut into four pieces

for masala:
oil 3-4 tbsp
yogurt 1/2 cup
cumin seeds 1 tsp
fried onion 2 tbsp
salt 2 tsp
ginger paste 1 tsp
garlic paste 1 tsp
tikka masala 1 tbsp
rice 3 cups (750 gm)

first make yakhni/broth, for that add the chicken in pot, add water, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper corns, salt, fennel seeds, garlic paste and onion... 

cook till chicken get tender... take the chicken out from stock... and strain stock and keep it aside



now, for masala... heat oil add yogurt and mix


add ginger and garlic paste


add fried onion... mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes...


add the boiled chicken in masala....


add tikka masala and mix and cumin seeds


fry chicken for 5-8 minutes


take the chicken pieces out... give smoke of coal to chicken pieces


in the leftover masala add stock bring it to boil add rice and salt


cook rice till they get tender... dish out rice... put the chicken pieces on... and garnish it with freshly fried onions
