Samosa Chat

a very unique and one of its kind chat.... crispy crispy potato filling samosa with yogurt and mint and tamarind chutney over it and *slurp* :)

and when u made it from scratch - nothing like it

so u need:
potato samosa  - 2 ( I used my home made one - http://morewish.blogspot.com/2012/08/crispy-aloo-samosa.html)
yogurt 1/3 cup
sugar 1 tsp
tamarind chutney 2 tbsp
mint chutney 2 tbsp
chick peas 1/4 cup
onion chopped 2 tbsp
coriander leaves 1 tbsp

place the samosa on serving platter break them a bit from the middle.... add chick peas

pour the yogurt over it

then some chopped onion, mint chutney and then tamarind chutney ... and combine them a bit.... sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and serve right away and enjoy :)

for tamarind chutney:

Sonth - Imli Khajoor ki Chutney (Tamarind Dates Chutney)

dates 1/2 cup
tamarind pulp 1/4 cup (i used bottled pulp because its kinda hard to find tamarind here... and that bottled tamarind pulp is bit more tangy so i used only 3 tbsp)
salt 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
red chili flakes 1/2 tsp
gur 2 -4 tbsp
dried ginger powder (sonth) 1/2 tsp

first take out seeds from dates
blend them with enough water to make a tick paste
in a pot add blended pulp and tamarind pulp
add around 1 cup of water, salt, chili flakes, ginger powder, and cumin seeds... mix well and cook on low heat
cook till you get thick ketchup like consistency, stir occasionally... switch off flame and let it cook
then pour it in clean sterilized bottle...

for mint chutney:
Hari Chutney (Green Chutney)

coriander leaves 1 bunch (1 cup)
mint leaves 12 - 18
minced garlic 1 tsp (or garlic cloves 5-6)
salt 1 tsp
green chilies 4 -5
cumin roasted and crushed 1 tsp
lemon juice/vinegar 4 -5 tbsp

add all ingredients in blender jug...
blend all with water for 4-5 minutes...
pour in clean sterilized airtight bottle and keep in fridge for future use
