Mildly sweet, firm, and lovely green peas cooked with rice. Aromatic, easy, simple but tasteful dish great for winter nights

Rice - 3 cups (750 gm)
peas 1 1/2 to 2 cups
oil - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
onion sliced 2/3 tbsp
cumin seeds (zeera) 1 tsp
tomatoes 2, chopped
garlic paste 1 tsp
ginger paste 1 tsp
salt - 3 tsp or according to your taste
chicken powder or cube (optional) 1 tsp, but reduce salt a teaspoon if using
green chili for dum
